What is the deal with Niagara Golfing today?
There has been an explosion of new golf courses in the late 90's and 2000's in the Niagara Region of southern Ontario Canada. They overbuilt high end courses during this time and combined with the drop in tourism following 9-11 and high green fees the courses were not as full as the new owners expected. So prices for locals have dropped in recent years to get courses filled up. Tourists can still expect to pay full price, but there are deals to be had if you spend some time watching their websites and if you are able to golf during the week.
